The Witcher is renewed for the 5th and final season by Netflix

Liam Hemsworth joins the cast of recent years, which will be filmed together, to replace Henry Cavill, who left the series

Netflix announced, this Thursday (18), that The Witcher will gain a fifth season, responsible for ending production that began in 2019. The news came with a video showing the start of production of the fourth and fifth year episodes, which will be filmed together.

The video, released on the streaming platform’s social media, also shows the first meeting of Liam Hemsworth (Hunger Games) with the cast of The Witcher. The actor was chosen to replace Henry Cavill(Zack Snyder’s Justice League) in the role of Geralt of Rivia, who left the series at the end of the third year. Check out:

The Witcher tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, one of the last remaining wizards on Earth trying to find his place in a world where people are often more evil than wild creatures. The production is based on the series of books by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

In the fourth season, after the shocking events that altered the Continent, Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra, Sherwood) It is Ciri (Freya Allan, Explosive Cocktail) face crossing the war-torn continent and its many demons separated from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they will have a chance to survive their baptism of fire – and find themselves again.
