A big change for Asterix

If you’ve seen the movie Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion, you may have noticed a big difference in the intrepid little Gaul. His voice, in fact, is different from the one he had in the previous animated films of the saga.

And for good reason. For the first time since 1967, the famous voice actor Roger Carel (who passed away in 2020) did not lend him his voice. She decided to retire afterwards The dominion of the godswhich therefore marks his last film as a voice actor.

To replace him, Alexandre Astier and Louis Clichy asked Christian Clavier, who played Asterix in the three live action films released in theaters, to return to play him. As they had confided to our colleagues at BFMTVthey wanted an actor, and the choice of Clavier was obvious, since he already knew the character very well.
