With the aim of enhancing the art of photography, MIS organizes a month of photographic exhibitions in its space
In May, the MIS resumes its special annual programming to bring photography into focus, the project “May Photography” starts on May 10th and will feature seven solo exhibitions by several renowned artists and new talents.
Curated by André Sturmgeneral director of MISthis edition of the event includes individual series by renowned Brazilian photographers, such as Sebastião Salgado, Thereza Eugênia, Sergio Poroger, Gabriel Chaim and Bruno Mathias. The exhibition also presents a selection of Allan Porter Collectionwith striking images from the 20th century, and a special curation from the MIS Collection, highlighting the work of four photographers with different perspectives.
“After 12 years of its debut and seven editions, we resumed the project May Photography at MIS in essence: a true photographic occupation throughout the Museum, covering everything from new talents to big national and international names in the field”, says André Sturm, director general of MIS and responsible for curating the exhibition.
