1990s classic will feature the return of the protagonists
the comedy sequel Romy and Michellea 1990s classic, is on its way! Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow confirmed that the project is in its early stages in separate interviews, according to information from theVariety.
Sorvinothat lived romy in the 1997 feature, commented that the production is “closer than ever” to confirming a sequel. “I can’t say anything officially, but unofficially yes: something is very close to happening”, he points out.
Already Kudrow confirmed that the screenwriter Robin Schiff, creator of the characters, is “thinking of something new for them”. “Isn’t that exciting?” she amended.
In Romy and Michellethe two title characters are inseparable best friends who panic when they realize that their 10-year high school reunion is coming up, and that their adult lives aren’t as fabulous as they’d like.
Directed by David Mirkin (sweet cheat), the film still had Alan Cumming (Little spies), Janeane Garofalo (Another American Summer), Elaine Hendrix (Cupid operation) and Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) in the list.
