The Time Traveler’s Wife It will not advance in time.
HBO canceled the drama series based on Audrey Niffenger’s bestselling novel after one season. Steven Moffat (doctor who sherlock) is an adaptation of a novel about a woman (Rose Leslie) and a man (Theo James) trapped in time.
“However, HBO will not renew for a second season. The Time Traveler’s WifeWe were privileged to collaborate with master storytellers Steven Moffat and [director] David Nutter,” HBO said in a statement. “We are so grateful for your passion, hard work and care in adapting this beloved book. We also thank Theo and Rose and our brilliant cast for their heartfelt performances that completely wowed audiences.”
The series received generally unfavorable reviews; the hollywood reporterAngie noted that the inconsistent tone and lack of spark between the two leads “keeps The Time Traveler’s Wife At once quite hot headed to the point of fatigue dignity. The show’s on-air ratings were quite small, with only 223,000 same-day viewers over the course of its six weeks. (This number does not include streaming and late-night viewing, where HBO series draw most of its audience.)
Moffat wrote and Nutter directed all six episodes. They are executive producers with Sue Vertu, Brian Minchin and Joseph E. with Iberti.
