The sequel to “I Am Legend” will arrive in theaters
The film I’m a legendreleased in 2007 and directed by Francis Lawrence, it quickly became a classic of the post-apocalyptic genre. Adapted from the novel by Richard Mathesonthe film stars Will Smith as Robert Neville, a scientist who appears to be the last man alive in a New York devastated by a virus that transforms humans into nocturnal and aggressive creatures.
In 2022, the film’s sequel was officially announced, featuring the return of Will Smith in the lead role and Michael B. Jordan in the second male role. One crucial piece of information to note is that the sequel will take the original film’s alternate ending as its starting point.
In this alternative ending, more faithful to Matheson’s novel, Neville survives and joins the survivors’ camp with Anna and Ethan.

After several years without information, Will Smith finally broke the news I am the legend 2 ! And good news for fans eagerly waiting to find Robert Neville: the movie is still on track.
In an interview given to Show tonight (ET), Will Smith has finally provided an update on the film’s progress. Although the actor and the producer have not specified when filming will begin, shared encouraging details on the progress of the project and his collaboration with Michael B. Jordan, who will also act as co-producer:
We spent a few weeks together about a month ago. I think he’s fine. We have some really solid ideas… I think we will be successful in making this film together. This guy is amazing, so I would love to do it.
There is currently no release date or plot details yet.
