The wait is over. Trueno presents “El Último Baile”, his long-awaited third studio album.
With strong verses and avant-garde production, “The Last Dance” is a powerful reminder that hip hop is still alive in international cultures.
Trueno goes back in time and does his own interpretation of the genre in his own project, paying homage to the works of his unforgettable predecessors. With a nod to some of hip hop’s most recognized album covers such as Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III; Nas, Illmatic; The Notorious BIG, Ready to Die, the album cover shows a younger version of the artist, interjected with fundamental elements of today’s Trueno.
Many genres seep into the album’s overall sound, such as trap, R&B, and reggaeton elements. However, the essence of Thunder remains alive and thriving. “Ayo, I keep it real, that’s what it stands for,” Trueno says in the album’s intro. “To all the rappers who are part of history,” he toasts in the first 40 seconds.
“‘El Último Baile’ is an album dedicated to hip hop, to the culture. For me, this album has a lot of importance now that we are entering 2024. Last year was the 50th anniversary of this beautiful culture and I think it’s an awesome moment for a culture, but for me it’s just the beginning,” Trueno explained.
And he added: “With this album, I am trying to expand a different concept through each song with a musical genre that is part of this culture. It’s a journey through certain eras, certain decades of hip hop and the genres that emerged from it., from there the concept was born. I want to offer a little celebration to people at what may be a critical time socially and economically. Like many of us in Latin America. »
