Lady Gaga faces Joaquin Phoenix Joker: Folie a Deux

Four years later Jokerthe release of the sequel to Todd Phillips’ film is approaching. Joaquin Phoenix will return as one of DC’s most iconic characters, in a feature film that was particularly eagerly awaited given the success of the first (this became the first R-rated film to exceed $1 billion in worldwide grosses). And, this time, he won’t be alone.

Joker: Folie a Deux it will be an opportunity to see the character played by Joaquin Phoenix interact with another cult protagonist from the DC universe: Harley Quinn. To interpret the latter, Lady Gaga was chosen. And, a few months before the film’s release, the actress provided some details about her version of the character.

The actress promises a unique Harley Quinn

While a documentary film about the tour of his new album entitled Chromatic sphere will be released soon, Lady Gaga recently gave an interview Enter Hollywood to promote it. On this occasion you also spoke briefly Joker: Folie a Deux. He promised that the filming experience was something totally new for her. And that was her interpretation of Harley Quinn different from what we have seen so far :

My version of Harley is mine and it’s very authentic to this movie and these characters. I’ve never done this before, so it will be completely new and really fun.

According to Lady Gaga’s statements, her version of Harley Quinn will therefore be very different from the one proposed by Margot Robbie. Likewise, Joaquin Phoenix’s interpretation of the Joker that we discovered in the first film stood out from those of the other actors who had played the character previously.

Just over four months of waiting

Again directed by Todd Phillips, Joker: Folie a Deux will go out next October 2nd at the cinema in France. The film is not part of the DC universe developed by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
