The F1 film with Brad Pitt validated by Lewis Hamilton
Will Brad Pitt become the new king of Hollywood with this new film? This is what one might imagine, with the appetizing comment of a Formula 1 specialist, the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. This, producer, actor and consultant of the car racing film – as yet untitled – directed by Joseph Kosinski, explained during the show The hot ones that the images taken were shot at real speed, in order to best capture the crazy sensations of an F1 race.
It is impossible for a truck to film us at 300 km/h, so normally (in cinema) everything is simulated at a lower speed and then accelerated. But here is real time, real speed. (…) Today we have this new and wonderful technology. So I feel like (the film by) Joseph Kosinski, honestly, is going to blow everyone away.

Top Gun Maverick: the little impulse that changes everything
Because we can believe it
Bragging rights or reality? The film with Brad Pitt, whose working title was for a time Apex, could really turn audiences’ heads. For what ? Because, directed by Joseph Kosinski, it is somehow “technologically” followed Top Gun: nonconformistwhose revolutionary shots – many of which were shot in real conditions – are one of the reasons for the great success of the film with Tom Cruise, which grossed more than $1.4 billion at the global box office in 2022.
The presence, around Joseph Kosinski, of the producer Jerry Bruckheimer and the director of photography Claudio Miranda is the confirmation that, in his visual performance, the “filiation” with Top Gun: nonconformist it will be obvious.

If, as reported, the Apple studios that produced the film have allocated an estimated budget in 300 million dollars, it’s good that a new film is being prepared, with sensations never felt before. However, it is impossible at this point to bet that this film about Formula 1 can do as well as that of Tom Cruise, the “Top Gun” brand does not really have an equivalent in terms of notoriety, and F1 remains a less unifying universe than stunts aerials of “Maverick”.
Brad Pitt, in any case, did everything to offer an overall performance that was as realistic as possible, as he explained to Sky Sports F1 in July 2023, during the filming of several sequences during the British Grand Prix.
You’ve never seen speed, you’ve never seen G-forces like that, racing is really, really exciting. (…) (This film) should be as authentic as possible. Lewis wants us to respect the sport, to show it as it is.
The film is currently scheduled for release in theaters June 25, 2025.
