Judith Chemla posted photos on her Instagram account of her swollen face after being attacked by her ex-husband last year. A publication that sends a message to victims of domestic violence, “Never Drop a Complaint.”
Currently starring in Michel Leclerc’s Le Goût et les couleurs and soon to be seen in Simone, le voyage du siècle, where she plays Snow, Simone Veil’s sister, Judith Chemla posted photos of her swollen face on her Instagram account. 1 year ago to attack a former companion.
At the Cannes Film Festival in July 2021, the actress, who was supposed to come to present her husband Johan Manka’s film “My Brothers and I”, finally canceled her visit. American magazine Variety revealed that Judith Chemla was attacked by her partner.
LCI says the actor filed two lawsuits that ended with eight months of probation in May of last year for domestic violence, harassment and unlawful battery.
A year after the attack, the actress returns to the facts and condemns the pressure that her ex-husband and the father of her daughter continue to put on her. He writes in his post:
“A year ago, my face was damaged, I saw a blue, purple under eye, my head was deformed. A year ago, I looked at my face in the mirror and knew that I could no longer hide my face. father of my daughter
Those who can do it must be harmful. But how ? I am not ashamed of this photo. But he should be ashamed, he should be ashamed today, a year later, instead of continuing to pressure me, thinking that he still has the means to manipulate me, instead of stealing my son’s head, he should be ashamed and keep quiet, really search. Forgiveness. That’s not the point.
I have so much evidence that he was trying to hurt me. Did you go back to the police station for the third time? Filing a 3rd complaint in 1 year? Being in the film industry and having the sword of Damocles with 8 months of probation… isn’t that enough?
I am tired. What does it take for him to leave me alone? Should I really go to jail? With my daughter, she will still play the victim and suffer from not seeing her father.
Should I keep it to myself? He will still feel above the law, continue to complain and appeal court decisions with his 5-year-old daughter, whom he considers a normal father, which he is not. He still believes that he can pressure and morally harass me.
I can’t take it anymore. I ask for peace. Is that clearer?“
“Do not be afraid”
Many personalities such as Géraldine Nakache, Reda Khateb, Nora Hamzav, Nicolas More, Clara Lucian, Manu Payet, Celine Salet or Juliette Armand supported the actress and applauded her courage to speak about domestic violence and harassment.
They asked about it today France InterJudith Chemla thanks people for their support and explains that she posted photos of her face to send to the victims: “Ladies, don’t be afraid to never withdraw your complaint. I will scare you. They scared me, they made me feel guilty. (…) Fighting is filing a complaint, fighting for your children.”
Warning, this article contains spoilers for The Boys Season 3 Episode 7!
If Black Noir has always been as hush-hush as it is mysterious, then Season 3 of The Boys, currently airing on Prime Video, has revealed some secrets about the character. Specifically, in episode 3, flashbacks showed him in his younger days when he was a member of the Payback team and no longer wanted to hide behind the mask.
But after an operation gone wrong, he was found completely disfigured. A turning point in his life, which episode 7 revisited during sequences where Super is surrounded by animated animals such as Snow White. A concept that greatly amused series creator Eric Kripke.
that TVLineThe latter also explained why he decided to integrate animated characters into his story: “If there’s an idiosyncratic way to tell a story, I’ll take it because it’s a lot more fun to think outside the box and say something outright. The idea that when Black is alone, he looks like Snow White, with cute animals flying around him, made me laugh..”
Imaginary friends are introduced from the beginning
After escaping, learning that Soldier Boy is alive, Black Noir takes refuge in an abandoned Buster Beaver restaurant (a parody of the American chain Chuck E. Cheese), whose mascots come to life.
“When you look at all the layers of this cartoon, there are these animated characters that only he can see and that he’s probably been seeing since season one. They had been around him all this time. That’s what we’re talking about in this episode.“, admits the screenwriter in an interview variety.

And let’s add about animals: “They are cute, aren’t they? I kept saying it was going to be Martin Scorsese’s Snow White. Beloved Disney characters, but whose bodies are anatomically realistically deformed from beatings, how a real human body reacts when subjected to this kind of abuse. And it’s an explosive combination.“
Brutal reconstruction
Indeed, it is these animated characters that bring to life the scene that was not shown in Episode 3: the one where the boy soldier’s comrades confront him to hand him over to the Russians, but not before his death. Very violently, until permanently disfigured, forcing him to never remove his mask again.
And it might be animation, you have to have a strong heart to watch this particularly gory series! Note also that Black Noir’s imaginary friends then come to greet the public in a very brief post-credits scene.

Eric Kripke also took advantage of the tumultuous scene to develop Homelander’s friend, as he says: “We wanted to explore the origins of noir and really show who he was and where he came from. In flashbacks, he was a young, handsome superhero who wanted to be the next Eddie Murphy, but was targeted by a boy soldier in such extreme ways that he ended up physically deformed.
We believe that once he recovered from his injuries and secured the mask, he only took it off very rarely, Darth Vader-style. None of this is natural. And we played with it. Does he take off his mask when he is in this restaurant? But why should you? He’s so ashamed of who he’s become that he just doesn’t fit.“
To find out if Soldier Boy will finally find Black Noir to pay for his betrayal, tune in to Prime Video this Friday, July 8.
