There is no doubt that Taylor Swift became one of the greatest pop artists of all time. There are several numbers proving this, from basic metrics of record and ticket sales to impressive records that the artist has broken, especially in recent years.

In the view of Michael J. Fox, such relevance will go beyond the current moment. The actor, famous for his work in the film trilogy Back to the futurerevealed that he believes that the artist will be a very important person in the next 50 years.

In an interview with People, Fox pointed out Swift’s greatest merit as a public person. For him, the “little blonde” has been able to change the way the world works.

“I think she will be a very important person. I think it moves economies, it changes the way the world works, and that’s incredible.”

He then highlighted that Taylor is also important by “publicly speaking out on issues” of interest to the population. In this sense, one of the highlights was when the artist spoke openly about protecting the right to vote and encouraged her fans to vote — in the United States, voting is optional. On this occasion, she managed to make the Vote.org website break registration records.

Furthermore, Swift has been very vocal in defending the rights of the LGBTQIAPN+ population, which are frequently debated in the United States.

One of today’s greatest pop singers, Taylor Swift is loved all over the planet, but her relationship with her home country, the United States, is special. At the moment, she is the 25th best-selling artist in the country’s history, surpassing 50 million copies in the local market alone — and all this at the age of 34 and less than two decades into her career.

A study carried out by Morning Consult (via Rolling Stone) dedicated himself to understanding, based on science, how Americans relate to Swift. The survey, which interviewed 2,204 people between March 3 and 5, 2023, found that 53% of adults living in the country declare themselves fans of the singer. Of this number, 16% identify as “avid” admirers.

And what is the profile of these people? In general, they are considered white (74%) and millennials (45%) — those born between 1981 and 1995 —, in addition to residing in the suburbs (53%), regions further away from the central areas of large cities.

Furthermore, the data shows that 73% of Swift’s most dedicated fans attributed their admiration to the singer for her music — it’s surprising that the number isn’t higher. Approximately 50% focused their attention on the singer due to her live performances and music videos. Interestingly, 42% mention that they became a loyal audience due to the artist being “reliable”.
