When The boys refers to season 4 The human centipede
The boys made its return to Prime Video this Thursday, June 13, with three episodes of the fourth season put online. And what a return! As we explained in our article, the show created by Eric Kripke has taken an even more political direction and is in strong harmony with current events in the United States. Even if these first episodes are less crazy than what we saw in the previous season, the series does not lose its style, still retaining some memorable passages. Among these, a very particular, engaging scene from episode 2 could not be missing the character of Splinter, played by Rob Benedict.

The latter has the ability to clone oneself. In the universe of The boys, we know well that this type of power can give rise to unimaginable sexual excesses. And this is precisely the case in this episode 2, during a rather disgusting scene witnessed by Frenchy and Kimiko. After following him to a meeting of conspiracy theorists, the duo discovers that Splinter and his clones are busy rimming one after the other. A fairly clear reference to the horror film The human centipede which obviously made the viewers react. Some were clearly shocked by this passage and would have preferred not to see it. But the trend remains that of fun.
The reference to The Human Centipede was horrible
A reference to The Human Centipede is the last thing I thought I’d see in The Boys
Nooooo The human centipede in The Boys
I just watched the first two episodes of season four of The Boys. I really didn’t need to see so much Splinter smut, lol.
Behind the scenes with Rob Benedict
During the promotion of season 4 of The boys, Eric Kripke was obviously asked about this scene. It’s also the first thing on Variety asked the creator. The latter first recounted his discussions with Rob Benedict, who he knows very well thanks supernatural (of which Eric Kripke was one of the authors). Happy to be able to work with him again, the showrunner wanted warn him of what awaited him.
Rob knew what he was getting into. When he contacted me and said, “I think I might audition for this role,” I said, “So, we need to talk…”. So I explained each scene and he was more than willing to do it. He thought it was funny – and it was.

Continuing this scene, we then find Splinter arguing with the boys. Several clones of the character then appear totally naked. For these two sequences the production had to resort prosthesis.
The things we had to do to make it work… For example, we had to make a perfect prosthetic of his ass so he could eat it himself in the same shot. There was also filming for this fight scene which lasted seven days. He’s in every frame, so he spent a lot of time naked. We ended up building a prosthetic penis. So he wasn’t really naked, but he was only wearing a loincloth for seven days.
For the moment Prime Video has only released three episodes of season 4 of The boys. To see if the rest of the season will go even beyond this step.
