For now, the new feature will only be available in the North American market, but it is already causing controversy around the world.
With the intention of repeating the cinema experience, the Netflix announced that it will launch its own line of popcorn. Initially, there will be two versions, a salty one, with a cheddar cheese flavor, and a sweet one, with a touch of cinnamon, with a suggested value of US$4.49 (R$24.50 at the current price) each.
Despite the novelty being available, for now, only in the North American market, the announcement was enough to turn the initiative into a joke, as well as a way to criticize the streaming platform. Check out the reactions:
- “Does it cost more to share with family?”wrote one internet user, criticizing the ban on sharing passwords.

Next they should start building places with big screens where people can watch their movies. What will they call those?

Netflix has not yet commented on the possibility of launching the popcorn outside the United States, but the chances are remote as the new feature is a partnership with the North American brand Popcorn Indiana.
