Titled A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms, the derivative is based on the book The Knight Errant; Filming has begun in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Despite being very late to deliver the last book in the saga A Song of Fire and Iceentitled The Winds of Winter, George R. R. Martin remains very involved with the derivatives of Game of Thrones, a series that adapts the main books. In fact, he promised a launch for “early 2025.”
It is worth highlighting how the production in question must be A Knight Of The Seven Kingdomswhich began filming in mid-June 2024, but a release date has not been revealed by HBO or producers of the derivative.
The series is an adaptation of the book The Walking Knight (1998), and it takes place approximately 100 years before game of Thrones and about 100 years after the current spin-off of the franchise, titled The House of the Dragon. In a publication on his own website, the author explained the next steps for the television series.
“Filming began last week in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where much of the game of Thrones original was filmed,” he wrote. “Based on my novel The Walking Knightthe new show will premiere early next year, in 2025.”
Only six episodes for this one. A novella is considerably shorter than a novel (particularly one of my novels), so there is less source material.
Furthermore, George R. R. Martin commented how production is going “really well,” as well as how he and his wife will visit the set in July 2024: “Parris and I will be taking some of our minions to Belfast in mid-July to visit the set, meet the cast and take part in some jousting [esporte jogado por dois cavaleiros com armaduras montados em cavalos].”
