Spider-Man: casting underway for a new live action film?

A new Spider-Man in the works?

This is information that perhaps will make a difference a major turning point in superhero cinema. According to information from journalist Jeff Sneider and a topic he discussed with John Rocha the latest episode of “The Hot Mic” podcast.Sony Pictures is currently looking for an actor play Miles Morales/Spider-Man in a movie live.

This information has yet to be verified. And ideally be confirmed by Sony Pictures so that fans can take it for granted that after the two excellent animated features, Spider-Man: Next Generation AND Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versecrowned with success, Miles Morales will therefore be entitled to his adventure in live filming.

As the two speakers of the podcast specified, it is Sony Pictures that has hired this casting. And not Disney, which produces MCU films and series through Marvel Studios. It would therefore be a film, like the animated ones, outside the MCU, and therefore without the iconic interpreter and who still covers the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the MCU, Tom Holland.

The “alternative” Spider-Man is popular

The superhero universe is privileged to have a filmography of the highest level. First with Sam Raimi’s trilogy. Then the two films brought forward by Andrew Garfield. And then the trilogy with Tom Holland which was a great success at the box office worldwide. Better yet, in front of these films live Since 2018, there have been Spider-Man films starring Miles Morales, two critically acclaimed animated films and also commercial successes.

With the need to reinvent himself and perhaps the end of Tom Holland’s superhero incarnation, Spider-Man audiences naturally turned to animated films, which rejuvenated and reinvigorated the universe. Logically, it therefore seems that he appeared at Sony Pictures, in addition to the planned third animated part Spider-Man: Beyond Spider-Versewhat a movie live centered on Miles Morales was an avenue to be explored very seriously. I can’t wait to find out more.
