Sandman: Season 2 is finally getting underway!
It’s not just Marvel series that are successful on Netflix. With The Sandmanit was the DC universe that was in the spotlight. The series is an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels, published between 1989 and 1996. Created by Allan Heinberg, the series also counted on David S. Goyer, a regular visitor to this dark universe (writer in particular of the films Lama AND The dark Knight). Released on August 5, 2022 on Netflix, The Sandman found its audience thanks to its fantastic story. We follow Morpheus/Dreamthe King of Dreams who is one day captured by an occultist and imprisoned for over a century. He eventually escapes and embarks on a journey through the Dream World and the Waking World to regain his powers and cure humans of the “sleeping sickness” caused by his imprisonment.

In just three days, The Sandman had already accumulated nearly 70 million hours viewed. Then, in the second week, the show had racked up another 127.5 million. Despite these impressive numbers, the second season of the series was not certain. We ultimately had to wait several months (November 2022) before Netflix confirmed the development of new episodes. Except that two years afterstill nothing! At least until July 3, 2024 which saw Netflix reveal new faces for the rest The Sandman.
Odin, Loki, Thor and the others
Production on Season 2 has finally begun. The platform’s opportunity to reveal who will play members of the Eternal family : Fate, delirium and destruction. That is to say Barry Sloane, Adrian Lester and Esmé Creed-Miles respectively. But they are not the only ones, as nine other characters will appear in the second season The Sandmanand no less important. Laurence O’Fuarain will be the famous Thorwhile Ann Skelly will play Noalaand who will play Douglas Booth Cluracan. All three are royal emissaries from the court of Faerie. Finally, Jack Gleeson will play the malevolent DiskIndiana Moore will be Wanda and Steve Coogan will lend his voice to the dog Barnabas that accompanies Destruction.
Netflix has not yet provided a release date for the second season of The Sandman. However, fans can be reassured to see production on the next episodes finally moving forward. They can therefore hope to find Tom Sturridge as Dream in 2025.
