No Need to Wait for Disney: Live-Action Bambi Coming in October and the Trailer Will Make You Cry

Bambi: A new film is coming in October

We no longer present the adorable Bambi. First imagined in the book Bambi, a life in the woods by author Felix Salten in 1923, the little deer experienced a new phase when Disney tackled his story, in the cartoon released in 1942.

The cartoon differs significantly from the original work softening some of the darker themes and adding lighter and more suggestive elements for a family audience, such as the presence of Thumper the rabbit. The film is visually stunning and uses advanced animation techniques for the time. The death of Bambi’s mother in the film is particularly touching and has become an iconic scene that has had an impact on several generations of viewers.

While Disney has been preparing the live action Bambi for several years, a live-action film, not related to the Mickey Mouse-eared company, will hit theaters in October. It is a live adaptation of the novel by Felix Salten entitled Bambi, the story of a life in the woods.

Mylène Farmer tells

This new adaptation is by Michel Fessler, a great French screenwriter, who collaborated in particular on the screenplay The Emperor’s Walk by Luc Jacquet, or more recently the documentary The Oak.

This new live-action film will tell the adventures of the little deer, who grows up surrounded by his mother and the animals of the forest, such as a crow, a rabbit and a raccoon. Bambi gradually discovers the secrets of the world of trees and learns every day from his mother how to become strong and independent.

However, with the arrival of autumn, a tragedy happens when hunters separate him from his mother forever. Forced to survive alone, Bambi is happily reunited with his childhood friend, Faline. He later meets a large, majestic deer, his father, who helps him grow up and accept his destiny.

Mylène Farmer lent her voice to tell this touching story that can be seen in cinemas on October 16.
