Threat in the Deep Sea is available on CANAL+
While one of the best shark movies of recent years can be watched for free, this is a new feature film a dangerous shark which has just arrived on streaming for CANAL+ subscribers. Its name? Deep-sea threat (Something in the water in the VO)
The plot takes place almost entirely in the turquoise waters of the Dominican Republic. It is in this heavenly decor that four friends meet to attend the wedding of their best friend, Lizzie.
The day before the ceremony they decide to indulge in one last folly and take a boat trip. headed for a desert island a few kilometers from where they live. But this enchanted interlude soon turns into a nightmare when one of them is seriously injured by a shark.
Destitute, they try to return to the hotel as quickly as possible to get her out of danger, but their boat hits a rock. After seeing their boat sink, helpless, they find themselves abandoned to themselves in the open sea, and will have to fight for their lives, between physical exhaustion, panic, and above all the shark, which does not take long to return.
Should you watch it?
Threat in Deep Seas doesn’t revolutionize the genre and leans more towards drama than pure survival horror, as it could be. Survival instinct. Don’t expect to see a riot of special effects or an outpouring of hemoglobin.
The shark is shown very little, which serves the survival aspect and provides some good tension sequences, although the whole thing suffers from a shaky writing, and characters too caricatural to be fully convincing.
