Tony Sirico, ‘The Sopranos’ actor, dies at 79

Tony Sirico, known for his role as Paul The soprano, died. He was 79 years old.

Sirico died Friday at an assisted-living facility in Ft. Lauderdale, according to his 25-year-old manager Bob McGowan. The cause of death was not revealed, but Sirico had suffered from dementia in recent years.

Sirico played Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri in the HBO series. it is the Sopranos Co-star Michael Imperioli paid tribute to Sirico by writing on his Instagram: “I am saddened to say that my dear friend, colleague and partner in crime, the great Tony Sirico, passed away today. He continued: “I was with him a lot: through the good and the bad. But mostly good. And we laughed a lot. We found a rhythm like Christopher and Paul and I’m proud to say I’ve done some of my best and funniest work with my dear friend Tony. I miss him forever. It’s really irreplaceable. I send my love to your family, friends and your many fans. He was loved and will never be forgotten. I was heartbroken today.”
