Netflix: New Movies This Week
While August 2024 will be packed with new movies and series, let’s take stock of the last week of July and the first days of August on Netflix France.
In terms of movies, there’s not much to do at the end of July, other than the arrival of the comedy Momofrom 2017, with Christian Clavier and Catherine Frot. For the first days of August, Netflix France has put online several films that should interest its subscribers, starting with the impressive 1917 by Sam Mendes.
The film is set in the midst of World War I, in 1917. It follows the story of two young British soldiers, Schofield and Blake, who are given a seemingly impossible mission: cross enemy territory to deliver a crucial message. This message is to prevent an imminent attack and save 1,600 men, including Blake’s brother, from a deadly ambush.
The film is shot to give the impression of a single continuous sequence shot, which immerses viewers in the heart of the action and tension. The two soldiers, faced with insurmountable obstacles, must demonstrate courage and determination to complete their mission.
