The new season of the first animated series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe still has no scheduled release date for Disney+
What If…? the first animated series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will come to an end after three seasons. The news was revealed during the D23 Expo, which took place last weekend. The final episodes, however, have yet to arrive on Disney+.
Brad Winderbaumexecutive producer and president of the TV, Streaming and Animation division of Marvel Studios, had already hinted that the next chapters of What If…? could be the last ones in previous interviews.
“I feel like it’s the conclusion of a trilogy. It goes beyond what the first two seasons explored of the multiverse, and brings in characters that are quite unexpected.”he said Winderbaum to the The Official Marvel Podcast [via BGR]. “[A nova temporada] has what I believe to be an extremely captivating and concrete culmination of Uatu the Watcher“.
The producer also said, in May of this year, that the new episodes will bring more focus to the character played by Jeffrey Wrightof American Fiction (2023): “What’s great about him is that he comes across as this cold, uncaring person, just an observer, but he cares about everyone and everything. That will be on display throughout season three.”he stated.
