Spotify buys Heardle music quiz game

Spotify bought the music trivia game Heardle, following suit The New York Times newspaper Bought the Wordle word puzzle.

In a blog post on Tuesday, Spotify described the game, which launched earlier this year amid Wordle’s growing popularity, as a “music discovery tool.” The game, which gives players six chances each day to identify a different song based on short audio clips, will remain free to play and will look the same, although users will hear the full song on Spotify at the end of the game.

The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Starting Tuesday, the Spotify-owned game will be available in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and will remain available on its standalone website. According to a blog post, Spotify plans to expand Heardle to more countries and more languages ​​in the future.
