Selena Gomez talked about bipolar disorder and how moving away from social media changed her relationship with people

Selena Gomez opened up about mental health on the program Good Morning America and revealed that it has been more than four years without using social networks. In an interview this Monday, the 4th, the singer and actress talked about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and how new habits changed her life.

“I haven’t been on the internet in four and a half years,” he said. “It changed my life completely. I’m happier, more present. I connect more with people. It makes me feel normal.”

Gomez also explained how the bipolar diagnosis helped her to find herself: “It was liberating to have the information. It made me happier because I started to have a relationship with myself, and I think that’s the best part. You know, I’m most likely the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m thrilled to start this chapter single, independently, strong, confident. That’s all I really want. I’m excited.”

Known mainly for the series and films of disney and work as a singer, Gomez grew up in the spotlight while starring Wizards of Waverly Place during adolescence. Since the last record, rare (2020), she has distanced herself from the stage to focus on work as an actress and prepares to star in the second season of Only Murders in The Building (2021).
