As you can imagine, with Strange things Season 4 will stage an even more epic battle in Season 5, which will be the last, tragic events like Max’s coma that should have essentially happened. Matt Duffer added:
We wanted them to really lose. We wanted our characters to experience how it felt. It was the big idea in season 4 that they were going to lose.
