Lidia Poët is finally back
It may not be as popular a series as Stranger Things, but Lidia commands was a great surprise in early 2023 on Netflix. The Italian show, created by Davide Orsini and Guido Iuculano, features a young woman who wants to register in the official register of lawyers. Only in Italy at the end of the nineteenth century, since the profession was reserved for men, his request was rejected. Nothing that stopped him, obviously. Behind this story, there is a true story, that of Lydia Poet, born in 1855, and who was the first woman to apply to be admitted to the bar.

The release of the series, which adopts a fairly light tone and tends towards police investigations, has allowed the actress to be revealed to a wider audience. Matilda De Angelisthat we had already seen in the miniseries The ruin with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. We will see her very soon on Prime Video in the action series Citadel: Diana (October 10)before finding her on the stage with the red logo in the guise of Lidia Poët a season 2 highly anticipated.
A teaser and a date for the second season
In fact we had to wait more than a year and a half before the work returned Lidia commands on Netflix. So much so that we once doubted that the series would continue with a season 2. It was then, to everyone’s surprise, that the streaming service revealed a first teaser (video on the front page of an article) of this next chapter.
At the end of the first season, Lidia seemed ready to leave for the United States to practice law more peacefully. A final shot suggested that she might eventually stay to continue her fight. A way to end the series while keeping the door open for a possible season 2. As we can see in these images, Lidia will return, and it won’t be long before she gets into trouble. Even more so when she announces that she wants to be registered on the electoral rolls. A new way for her to fight the sexist dictates of society. She can always count on her brother Enrico, and she should still make Jacopo’s head spin.
Season 2 of Lidia commands is coming soon to Netflix. New episodes will be released online on the platform October 30th.
