Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Rick Riordan Reveals Disney+ Series Details

Author of the Percy Jackson saga, Rick Riordan spoke about the production of the Disney+ series

Rick Riordanauthor of the saga Percy Jackson revealed new details of the adaptation of the books for the Disney+. After two films, the story of the demigod will win a series and the writer revealed what fans can expect from the production and that he is already working on the script.

“The work with the script has developed well. We have scripts pretty much ready for our first four episodes, and we’re still working hard on the remaining four of the first season,” he wrote on the official website, where he also shares behind-the-scenes videos of Percy Jackson and the olympians.

Regarding the cast, Riordan stated that he is not completely defined: “I think we are very close to having our main trio of Percy, Grover and Annabeth, but I can’t announce anything until we have all the necessary approvals, deals closed, etc. Even more than that. Be patient! As soon as we can say anything, we will, but asking for news more often will not make the news magically appear any faster.” (via CineBuzz)

Furthermore, Riordan also shared a video showing the path it took to get to the studio where the series is developed. According to Screen Rantthe first season will portray the events of the first book of the saga, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief (2005). And, if the adaptation is successful, the series is likely to produce four more seasons, one for each book in the main saga.

For now, filming does not have a start date and the series also has no premiere date. James Bobindirector 11 times nominated for the Emmy and who has worked several times with the Disney, will be in charge of the first episode of the production.
