Vincent Lindon arrives at the cinema in the remake of an excellent thriller with Tom Hardy

The remake of an exceptional thriller

The movie The choice arrives at the cinema November 20th and furiously attracts attention. Worn by French actor and major festival favorite Vincent Lindon, it’s a remake of the excellent dramatic thriller Lockea film with an original and very compelling structure enriched by a brilliant performance by Tom Hardy.

Running 1 hour and 25 minutes for a real-time story, we follow Ivan Locke, a father and building contractor dealing with the biggest crisis of his life, as he drives to a mysterious destination. Tom Hardy plays this methodical, determined and very intelligent man, who manages this crisis on the phone with his partner and the people close to him. At the wheel of his car, he is the only character who appears on the screen. Directed by Steven Knight, to whom we owe the success Peaky Blinders, Locke was critically acclaimed and Tom Hardy’s performance, unanimously praised and then awarded.

Vincent Lindon as Tom Hardy?

The pace is therefore quite high in tackling Lockebut this didn’t discourage director Gilles Bourdos who then made Vincent Lindon sit in the car so he could spend the evening. We keep the images of the trailer of The choice (video at the top of the article) respect for the artifice of the original film and a Vincent Lindon who was a priori very involved in his role. The cast also includes, for vocal performances, Emmanuelle Devos, Micha Lescot, Pascale Arbillot, Milo and Solan Machado Graner, Cédric Kahn and Grégory Gadebois.

After the Volpi Cup for the best male performance achieved at Venice Film Festival 2024 for his performance in the film Play with fireWill Vincent Lindon offer another memorable one, different but comparable in intensity to Tom Hardy’s? The choice will it maintain the tense line of dramatic thriller or branch into melodrama? Reply very soon.
