Ricky Martin denies having a romantic relationship with his nephew after new developments emerged in a domestic violence dispute that led to a restraining order against him earlier this month in Puerto Rico.

According to press reports, the defendant – who filed the order anonymously – was Martin’s 21-year-old nephew, who claimed to have been dating the Puerto Rican artist for seven months. The report cites an order stating that they split two months ago, but the petitioner says that Martin did not agree to the separation and was seen walking near the petitioner’s home at least three times.

“Certainly, Ricky Martin never was and would never be involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew,” said Marty Singer, Martin’s attorney. advertising panel. “The idea is not only false, but disgusting. On July 2, San Juan First Instance Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell issued a restraining order against the artist, authorities visited the town of Dorado, on the island’s north coast, where the singer lives, to serve. Axel Valencia, a police spokesman, told the Associated Press.

It is not known who applied for the restraining order. Valencia said he could not provide additional details because the order was filed under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law.

The following day, the “Sharks” singer took to social media to deny the warrant’s claims, saying it was “completely false” and that he was handling the process “with the responsibility I feel.” He added: “I appreciate the countless gestures of solidarity and accept them wholeheartedly.”
