Star Trek: Discovery it has evolved a lot after season 1, and even though Paramount + subscribers stay excited for adventures in the 32nd century in season 5, some elements of the era of the leap ahead of time are lost by fans. Many viewers loved Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca in the first season and were hoping that the character’s Prime timeline version of him could return to the franchise. Now there is finally a chance for it to happen strange new worldsBut it’s fine?
Jason Isaacs spoke with TheList.com on your movie Mrs. Harris goes to Paris, and he also answered some questions about his previous roles. When asked about the possibility that the First Lorca will find his way back star Trekthe actor expressed his personal opinion on his return to the franchise:
Of course. Yes, the story should be great. It was a great story. All the actors want is a secret, and I had the biggest secret of all, without telling anyone. If people haven’t seen it already, they’re unlikely to see it now, but there’s still a great secret there, and I had to play with it, and I knew it. This means that when you watch it, like when you watch “The Sixth Sense” for the second time, there is a new level of fun when you know how things are going.
Sure enough, Jason Isaacs had a secret as Captain Lorca Star Trek: Discovery Fans of the first season and (spoiler alert) learned at the end of the season that he was actually an evil terrestrial Lorca from the Mirror universe pretending to be Prime Lorca’s timeline. This has certainly surprised some, albeit Jason Isaacs’ past loose roles such as Lucius Malfoy Sure, some fans wondered at first if he’d be the surprise villain of the season.
Finally, Michael Burnham and the Star Trek: Discovery The crew defeated the evil Captain Lorca and we learn that the real Prime Lorca was still alive. It was an opportunity for Isaacs to return to Discovery, until most of the main characters will jump centuries into the future. Now, strange new worlds presents a new opportunity and there is even a link for him to get involved again. Isaacs spoke to work with SNOWCo-showrunner Akiva Goldsman shared more thoughts on reprising her role as Lorca:
Prime Lorca is … I am currently working with Akiva Goldsman, who has written and directed a lot.[Star Trek]: Discovery ‘, in a Tom Holland miniseries,’ The Crowded Room ‘in New York. We talked about Prime Lorca and it should be as good a story as the first season of “Discovery”. I don’t want to go back just because it’s a fan favorite and make a version that’s not that good. If there is room, they now have so many brilliant series. “Strange New Worlds” was also a big hit, and “Picard” is a big hit, but where and if there is room for a Prime Lorca story arc, I’m in favor. I don’t want to go back just to put on this skin-tight sausage costume.
The actor’s latest comments on the role are similar to what he has said in the past. Jason Isaacs confirmed that he liked the role, that he would be willing to return and that his suit was very tight. Your new comments on strange new worlds they are interesting, especially since working with Akiva Goldsman.
Prime Lorca is a completely different version of Gabriel Lorca with a different personality, so I can understand Jason Isaac’s apprehension of returning and not playing a character as good as his Earth counterpart. At the same time, strange new worlds he produced some really great episodes in the first season and found great ways to do it incorporate legacy characters into your story . It also heavily incorporated stories first introduced Discoveryso it wouldn’t be surprising if Lorca suddenly appeared there.
The only problem is if strange new worlds hasn’t invited Jason Isaacs for season 2, so he’d be available to show up asap if the series returns for season 3 . the only other star Trek show set right now is the Section 31 series, which one production has not yet started and it probably won’t be until star Michelle Yeoh has time on her schedule. However, unless there is a secret casting we are unaware of, it will take a while before we see Isaacs in. Emigrate again, even though everyone is on board.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 is available to stream on Paramount +. Subscribers can also review Jason Isaacs’ work as Lorca Discovery Season 1 and maybe start gorging on everything new Emigrate Shows
