Joe Keery Revealed How His Sister Encouraged Him To Be An Actor While He Was In School And Working At A Restaurant
Hard to imagine another actor to play Steve Harrington in Stranger Things (2016), but whoever thinks that Joe Keery had a great acting career before the phenomenon of Netflix. On the contrary, the star worked as a waiter and was encouraged by his sister to be an actor.
In an interview with The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon revealed that he met his sister Keery backstage and the actor told how she encouraged him at the beginning of his career. “I was a freshman in high school and she was part of the production team. You know, I took care of the sounds and lights,” he recalled.
“I was just going to sleep and ignore this stage crew thing, but she said, ‘Come on, get up,’ and kind of took me along. And it brought me to the theater,” she continued. fallon, then asked what Keery did before acting and the star replied that he was a waiter. “I was a great waiter, I think,” he said. “It was very charismatic.”
