Demeter’s last journey can be viewed on Netflix
This Saturday, November 23, Netflix added several new titles to its catalog. Among these there is Demeter’s last journey. The feature film draws its story from one of the greatest classics of fantasy literature. Because it simply is adapted from one of the chapters of Draculathe iconic novel written by Bram Stoker in the 19th century.
Demeter’s last journey takes place a ship leaving Transylvania and in London. Its crew carries a cargo of wooden crates whose contents are unknown. After departure, the crew members quickly experience inexplicable events: every night, a strange presence attacks them mercilessly…
Released in theaters in 2023, Demeter’s last journey offers us a compelling story with careful aesthetics. The film gives us moments of great tensionrelying on the terrifying creature which infests the ship of which the crew members are prisoners.
Unfortunately, the film was a failure at the worldwide box office, grossing only $21 million. This failure should therefore not offer a sequel to the film, which however had an open ending, announcing a second part.

Demeter’s last journey was made by André Øvredalwho signed Norwegian fantasy films in particular The troll hunter AND Mortal. In front of the camera we can see Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi and David Dastmalchian. Fans of game of Thrones will also recognize Liam Cunningham. The interpreter of Davos Mervault in the famous HBO series also plays one of the main roles in the feature film.
Netflix subscribers can therefore (re)watch now Demeter’s last journey on the platform. Soon we will also be able to find another version of the Dracula character at the cinema. NosferatuRobert Eggers’ new film will be released in theaters next December 25th in French cinemas.
