Never released in theaters, this superhero film starring Sylvester Stallone airs on TV tonight

The Samaritana little-known superhero film

Released in 2022, The Samaritan it was not shown theatrically. Instead it landed on the Prime Video streaming platform. The story of the feature film focuses on a mysterious man suspected by his neighbor of hiding his true identity: that ofa legendary vigilante.

25 years ago the famous vigilante The Samaritan faced his rival, Nemesis. Following this fight, he was declared dead. While many believe he succumbed to the flames that engulfed the scene of the crash, others want to believe he actually survived. Of which young Sam, 13 years old. He thinks so too his neighbor, Mr. Smith, is actually the vigilante in question. And, faced with the increase in crime in his city, the boy becomes determined to convince his neighbor to return to service.

In The Samaritanplays Sylvester Stallone a broken man, finding meaning in his life when Sam asks for his help. Despite being consumed by guilt, the man who calls himself Mr. Smith chooses to return to the service of the inhabitants of his small town, Granite City.

Javon Walton plays Sam The Samaritan. As for the vigilante at the center of the plot, he is played by Sylvester Stallone. With this film the famous interpreter of Rocky Balboa is for the first time the star of a superhero movie. Before that, it had already appeared Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 AND 3. But he only played a supporting character, Stakar Ogord.

The Samaritan was made by Julius Avery. The Australian director, who likes to explore different genres, has since signed a horror film. That is to say The Vatican Exorcistworn by another big name: Russell Crowe.
