The series Arcanefrom Netflix, stood out as one of the most ambitious and successful adaptations of the gaming world. Based on the universe of League of Legendsthe production features stunning visuals and an engaging narrative, which won over both fans of the game and new audiences.

Initially launched in 2021, the series returned in its second season — divided into three parts of three episodes — in November 2024.

Along with the final episodes of the second season, the developer Riot Games launched, alongside the record label Virgin Music Group, Arcane League of Legends: Season 2 (Soundtrack From The Animated Series).

The soundtrack features 22 original compositions that were created for pivotal moments in the Emmy-winning series. Soundtrack is now available on all audio platforms.

Exclusive single and music video

Furthermore, the band Twenty One PilotsGrammy Award winner, released “The Line”the latest single from the soundtrack. The sound is presented at a crucial moment in the third and final act of the season, and was written by the duo’s lead singer, Tyler Joseph.

“The Line” is the most recent track from the superstar duo, whose songs have had more than 33 billion streams throughout their career.

The song is now available on all platforms and reached more than 10 million plays on Spotify in less than a week. Furthermore, an exclusive music video was released on November 25th and has been among the two most watched on YouTube since then.

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun will present “The Line” live for the first time at The Game Awards, which takes place in Los Angeles on December 12th, and which will be broadcast live on YouTube.

“The Line” joins a host of tracks currently available, including “Come Play” put Stray Kids, Young Mikoand Tom Morello, “Paint The Town Blue” of Ashnikko, “Sucker” of Marcus King, “Remember Me” put d4vd and “Heavy Is The Crown (Original Score)” of Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrongfrom LinkinPark.

The second season’s soundtrack builds on the phenomenal success of the first season’s soundtrack. Arcanewhich has accumulated over 5.6 billion streams since its launch in November 2021 and maintains over 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

The plot of Arcane

The series is set between two contrasting regions: the utopian city of Piltover and the dark underworld of Zaun. The story follows the sisters Saw (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (played by Ella Purnell) while facing personal and social conflicts amid the struggle between the two cities. In the first season, we follow the sisters’ youth, marked by tragedy and the desire for revenge, as well as secondary characters who enrich the narrative, such as Caitlyn, Ekko and Heimerdinger.

In the second season, Saw and Jinx deal with the consequences of their choices, while the tension between Piltover and Zaun increases. The production not only expands the development of the main characters, but also deepens the relationship between Saw and Caitlyna highlight of LGBTQIA+ representation within the series.

The relationship with League of Legends

Arcane is based on the universe of League of Legendsa MOBA game (online battle arena), where teams compete to destroy the opponent’s base. Characters like Saw, Jinx, Caitlyn, Ekko, Jayce, Victor and Singed appear in both the series and the game, with their stories and personalities being explored in more depth in the adaptation.

Since the first season, the Riot Games collaborated directly with the production, ensuring that the series would become an official part of the game’s lore in 2023. Riot also launched related content, such as skins and in-game missions, connecting fans of the series to the LoL universe.

The series is one of Netflix’s most successful animations and was created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee. Executive producers include Link, Marc Merrill and Brandon Beck. THE Fortiche Production directed and produced the animation Arcaneunder the direction of the founders Pascal Charrue and Arnaud Delord.
