A Balinese decor recreated in Australia

Although the story of Ticket to Paradise takes place in Bali, filming did not take place on the Indonesian island. Due to restrictions and lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the production team had to revise their initial plans. Therefore, the scenes are expected to take place in Bali were filmed in Australiamainly in the state of Queensland.

The pristine beaches, turquoise waters and tropical landscapes seen on screen are actually those of the Whitsunday Islands, the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The Tangalooma Island Resort, located on Moreton Island, also served as a filming location, providing an idyllic setting for the seaside scenes. These Australian sites were chosen for their similarity to Balinese landscapes, thus allowing the sought-after exotic atmosphere to be recreated.

Choosing Australia as an alternative filming location proved wise. The production teams were able to exploit the similarities between the Australian and Balinese landscapes to give viewers an authentic viewing experience.
