Commando of creatures opens the new DC universe
Since October 2022, the DC Universe has entered a new phase. James Gunn and Peter Safran have become heads of DC Studios, with a mission to revive the DC superhero universe on screen. They immediately got to work starting the development of numerous projects. Of which the animated series that opens this new universe: Commando of creatures.
Created by James Gunn, Commando of creatures focuses on different monsters from the DC universe. These are collected by Amanda Waller to perform missions deemed too dangerous for humans. Even though the series premiered a few weeks ago on Max, the platform didn’t wait long before ordering the sequel.
A season 2 already ordered
So far, only five of the seven episodes that make up the first season of Commando of creatures were posted online on Max. However, as reported The Hollywood journalistthe platform has already chosen to do soofficialize the start of a season 2.
The adventures of Eric Frankenstein, The Bride, Circe and company will therefore continue. On the other hand, Max has not yet specified the number of episodes of the future season 2 From Commando of creatures. Before you can discover them, however, the last two episodes of the first chapter will arrive on the platform. The sixth episode will be released online January 2and the seventh January 9th.
Superman will follow
As mentioned previously, Commando of creatures opens the new DC universe. And more specifically the first chapter of this new universe, entitled “Gods and Monsters”. The next story of this chapter will come to the big screen this time. Because it will be from the new movie Supermanalso directed by James Gunn and which will be released in French cinemas July 9, 2025.
After, season 2 of Peacemaker will be released in August 2025. At the moment a more precise date has not been provided. The movie Supergirl: the woman of tomorrow will be released in theaters June 24, 2026AND Clay face September 9, 2026. Other projects, including the films The Authority, Batman: The Brave and the Bold AND Swamp thingas well as the series Lanternsare expected even without having a release date at the moment.
