During an emotional speech, the director of The Brutalist (2024), Brady Corbetspoke about the death of Jeff Baenascreenwriter, director and husband of Aubrey Plazawho committed suicide at the age of 47, two days before the awards ceremony.
Corbet he thanked his team, family, friends, studio and ended his speech by expressing solidarity with the actress. “Finally, tonight my heart is with Aubrey Plaza and the family of Jeff [Baena]. Good evening,” said the filmmaker.
