Singer breaks yet another bond with the businessman who discovered him at the beginning of his career
Justin Bieber no longer follow Braun scooter on Instagram. Their relationship began in 2008, when Braun discovered Bieber through videos on YouTube and went on to manage his career, contributing to successes such as Baby and Sorry.
The partnership, which lasted 15 years, began to show signs of wear and tear in 2023. The following year, Braun announced his retirement as an artist manager and ended partnerships with clients such as Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Bieber himself.

In a statement published in 2024, Braun commented on his decision to step away from direct artist management:
One of my biggest clients and friends said he wanted to spread his wings and go in a new direction. After everything we’d been through, I saw it as a sign.
Currently, Braun is CEO of HYBE Americathe North American arm of South Korean entertainment giant HYBE. However, he faced controversies involving the purchase and sale of the rights to original recordings of Taylor Swiftknown as “masters”. In 2019, Braun’s company acquired Big Machine Records, the label with which Swift released her first six albums, including hits like Fearless and Red. The acquisition granted Braun control over the original recordings of these works, something Swift publicly criticized, claiming she had not had the opportunity to buy the rights back.
The dispute gained more attention when, in 2020, Braun sold the rights to an investment fund, without consulting the singer. In response, Taylor Swift decided to re-record her first albums, regaining artistic control over her music. The movement resulted in the release of versions such as Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version).
