Joe Alwyn confessed that he has already moved on when asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift.

The artists met around 2016 and soon embarked on a romance that lasted around six and a half years. Although they were considerably reserved, the end of the relationship caused something to talk about, especially among fans of Swiftwho believe that the singer was betrayed.

In an interview with The Guardian (via People), Alwyn responded to a newspaper suggestion that he should move on: “That’s something for other people to do. We are talking about something that has been in my life for a while.”

He continued: “So this is for other people. That’s how I feel.”

Asked about a supposed fear that dating Swift overshadowed his career as an actor, Alwyn said, “I tried to just focus on controlling what I can control.”

“And from the beginning, I tried to focus on the things that are meaningful to me: friends, family, work, of course. So the noise outside of that… I think I did what a lot of people who find themselves in the spotlight do, which is simply trying to ignore”, he continued.

“If you don’t do that, and if you let all this other noise in, and if it starts to affect you and your behavior, you end up living from the outside in. And then you’re completely screwed.”

Swift’s new relationship

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn ended in April 2023. In September of the same year, the singer began a relationship with Travis KelceKansas City Chiefs football player, public.

The name chosen for the album does not seem coincidental. In 2022, Paul Mescal and Joe Alwyn revealed that Andrew Scott created a WhatsApp group called “Tortured Man Club” (via People).

Mezcal starred Normal People (2020), while Alwynex of Taylor Swiftstarred Conversations Between Friends (2022). Both series are adaptations of books of the same name by Sally Rooney.

The similarity between the name of the message group and the title of the new album by Swift suggests that the singer prepared, as she usually does, a kind of revenge against Alwynthrough the lyrics of his songs. The couple’s relationship ended after an alleged betrayal by the actor.
