Carlos Vives paid tribute to Puerto Rico with a very special show

Carlos Vives conquered the traditional San Sebastian street festival in San Juan, Puerto Ricowith a presentation full of energy, passion and the characteristic Colombian sound that identifies it.

In an iconic setting like the Plaza del Quinto Centenario, in the heart of Old San Juan, Vives not only delighted the audience with his biggest hits like “Pa’ Mayte”, “La Bicicleta” and “La Gota Fría”, but He also reaffirmed his deep love for Puerto Rico, the place where he began his artistic journey more than 30 years agowith his worldwide success “Canción Bonita” and his collaboration with Luis Fonsi, “Santa Marta”, where he evokes the streets of San Sebastian.

One of the highlights of the evening was undoubtedly the performance of “Canción Bonita”, a song that celebrates the essence and beauty of Puerto Rico.

For the first time, Vives sang this song just steps from the iconic San Felipe del Morro Castleone of the most emblematic points of the island. At the premiere of the song four years ago with Ricky Martin, Vives shared his hope that this song “touches people’s hearts and that the world knows the beauty of San Juan, its importance in contemporary music, its people incredible and “beauty of one of the most amazing places in the world.

Another unique moment in the Colombian’s presentation was when he performed his classic “La Tierra del Olvido” alongside artists Beto Montenegro from the group Rawayana and Li Saumet from Bomba Estéreo.

Likewise, he benefited from the participation of the Puerto Rican artist Wisin, with whom he shared the stage to perform the songs “Nota de Amor” and “Fruta Fresca”.

Carlos Vives’ presentation marked the close of Saturday’s festivities, an event that brings together hundreds of thousands of people from around the world.
