Last Saturday, February 15, the singer Sabrina Carpenter performed in the 50th anniversary of the Saturday Night Livedividing the stage with the legendary Paul Simon. The program, broadcast live 8h, at Rockefeller Center in New York, celebrated five decades of the iconic comedy program, bringing together former cast members, celebrities and great musical performances.

The special started with Carpenter and Simon singing Homeward Boundclassic released in 1966 on the album Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thymefrom the duo Simon & Garfunkel. Simon had already interpreted the song in the SNL In 1976, alongside George Harrison. During the program, Carpenter joked that neither she nor her parents had been born at the time of the original presentation. After the duet, the two ended the moment with the traditional opening of the program: “Live from New York, It’s Saturday Night!”.

In addition to his performance, Carpenter participated in a skits alongside Pedro Pascal, Marcello Hernández and Bad Bunnyplaying guests at a vote renewal ceremony. The singer had already performed in SNL previously, in the final of season 4, on May 18, 2024, when it sang “Espresso”, “Feather” and “Nonsense”besides participating in a skits inspired by Scooby-Doo.

The event also featured other musical performances, including Lil Wayne and The Roots, Paul McCartney and a special return of the Nirvanawho met with Post Malone to play SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT.
