Carlos Vives, Yera and Lalo Ebratt pay homage to their land with “Mamacita”

If something distinguishes Carlos Vives is that he never forgets his roots. And he proves it again “Mamacita”, the song with which he pays homage to Santa Marta, the city where he was born. And he does it with Yera and Lalo Ebratt.

The premiere of “Mamacita” is no coincidence: it takes place as part of the celebration in honor of Santa Marta, patroness of La Perla de América. And it’s a fresh, romantic song that merges the best of two generations and their musical worlds.

“Mamacita”, they say, was born in a composition camp in front of the beach, in which Yera and Lalo Ebratt together with their compatriots L’Omy and Markinho, recognized talents of the local scene, painted with words and with their unmistakable flow, the portrait of the Samaritan woman, her beauty, her way of being, of thinking and the magic produced by her proximity.

From the start, Yera and Lalo Ebratt were clear that a third performer would be a great fit for this song, someone they’ve always admired for being an icon of the land where they were born: Carlos Vives.

And it is no coincidence that their idol invited them some time later to take part in a party in the emblematic neighborhood of Pescaíto; there the rapprochement took place and thanks to the ancestral link which unites the three samariums, “Mamacita” was the reality of the dream dreamed up by Yera and Lalo.

The official video for “Mamacita” was recorded in Tayrona National Natural Park; its majestic and emblematic landscapes are the protagonists of the story that combines the beauty of the women of this land, with the interpretation of the three Samaritan artists.

In addition, this audiovisual piece pays homage to the most mamacita of all: mother nature.

Our inspiration has a lot to do with where we were born… And it’s like our older brothers said: the mother, the mother, the mamasota, the mamacita of the planet, the Sierra Nevada, the Rio Grande, each of the rivers that descend from the mountains, this is the story that the video says… Yera is the earth, Lalo is the wind and I am the water,” Vives said.
