When it was first reported in October 2021 that Brendan Fraser had joined the cast of bad girl, exchanges only identified his character as Firefly and made no mention of his alter ego. Without further information, Fraser was supposed to play Garfield Lynns (the identity of the original DC Comics version of the villain, introduced in 1952), but now that record has been cleared with the actor confirming that he will play Ted Carson’s version of Firefly.
Ted Carson’s version of Firefly was introduced much more recently, most notably in 2013, and is a version of the character wearing a robotic suit as he commits his flame-centered crimes. You probably shouldn’t expect to see this robotic costume in the next DC movie, because the photos from the set of Brendan Fraser in costume didn’t give off a high-tech vibe.
Firefly is a character with an interesting story in both comics and live-action and will appear alongside a stellar cast in bad girl.
