Stranger Things: David Harbor explains why he believed the series would be a failure

David Harbor confessed to believing the series would end up canceled after the first season

Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things was winning the hearts of the public and the specialized critics, but the success was not at all predictable. David Harborwho plays the sheriff jim Hopperconfessed to believing that the series would end up canceled in the first season.

The actor revealed in an interview with BBC’s The One Show that the series’ low budget made not only harborbut also some members of the technical team believed that the production would not have enough audience to be renewed.

“I remember when we were shooting the first season… We were in Atlanta, Netflix gave us a budget of like $20. When we were in the middle of filming, the person in charge of my hairstyle talked to me, about when we were shooting episode four, and I said, ‘I don’t think this is going to work.

Despite the low budget, Stranger Things managed to become one of the most viewed series on the streaming service. But even before its debut, harbor was not convinced.

“When we finished production, I thought we weren’t going to get a second season. We’d be one of the only shows on Netflix not to get a second season. We thought no one would see it, it would be a disaster.”


Stranger Things season 4

The fourth season has arrived in the catalog of Netflix in two blocks: the first released on May 27, and the second on July 1. According to the streaming platform’s official synopsis: “It’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is trapped far from home, in the snowy desert of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and others.”

The second part of the series will bring new challenges for the protagonists, in addition to the epic confrontation between Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and come. Check out the official trailer:
