Actor regretted the fact that he was not invited to play one of the most beloved characters by franchise fans
Gary Oldmanthe interpreter of Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Azkaban Prisoner (2004), Harry Potter and the Chalice of Fire (2005), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011), regretted the fact that he was not considered to work in the Harry Potter series.
In a recent interview for Variety (via Collider), the actor admitted that he had hopes for being able to assume the role of Dumbledorethe legendary director of Hogwarts in rereading the books of JK Rowling made by HBO.
I wanted a chance to be Dumbledore. I would have easily imagined this. I’m coming to the ideal age for this role. “
For the actor, the news will not be able to capture the essence of the saga as the movies did. “My personal impression is that they will not come close to connecting with saga fans like the original movies. In fact, I am very curious to see, because many of the book events were cut.“
Dumbledore’s role in the HBO series got John Lithgow (Conclave).
