CAA hired Joanna Popper, an executive who oversaw HP’s virtual and augmented reality initiatives, to become the agency’s first director of metaversion.
At CAA, Popper will be responsible for overseeing a team of executives focused on the agency’s metaversion strategy, both internally and for clients. You will work closely with Alexandra Shannon, CAA’s Director of Strategic Development, and Adam Friedman, Executive Guidance Agents working with NFT.
“CAA has always been at the forefront of mapping new and emerging business opportunities for our clients. At this pivotal time in our industry, Metaversion will impact changes in content creation, distribution and community engagement, creating significant opportunities for our customers,” CAA President Jim Bartson said Thursday. “We are delighted to welcome Joanna to CAA as her knowledge, vision, relationships and business building skills will be essential to making a significant impact in the industry.”
Popper joins CAA from HP, where he oversaw the launch of VR headsets under the HP Reverb brand and worked with studios including DreamWorks, NBCUniversal, Sony, Disney and Paramount. The executive, who started his career in investment banking, also spent eight years at NBCU, where he served as vice president of marketing.
