The best mother in the world (real) It is a documentary series directed by Pedro Bayeux and idealized by Henrique Leinig That throws a sensitive and deep look at the trajectory of eight Brazilian women who face, daily, the challenges of an essential but historically invisible occupation: the collection and screening of recyclable materials.
Recorded during the filming of the feature The best mother in the worldfrom Anna Muylaert (What time does she come back?), the series proposes to expand the reach of the real stories behind fiction. While in the movies, the character Gal (interpreted by Shirley Cruz, The Business Women’s Club) embodies part of these struggles, in the series are the true voices that gain space and protagonism.
Divided into eight episodes, the work plunges into a universe marked by resistance, dignity and humanity. The protagonists – Fabiana da Silva (in memoriam), Daniele da Silva, Cida Preta, Guiomar dos Santos, Laura da Cruz, Litz Gouvea, Maura Pereira and Alexandra da Silva – They share life experiences that cross abandonment, exclusion and prejudice, but also reveal strength, affection and hope.
