Thor: Love And Thunder co-writer discusses “many different versions” of the Marvel movie ending and his reaction to the post-credits scene

This story will become a spoiler for Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder, so stop reading if you haven’t seen the Marvel Studios sequel yet and still want to be surprised.

The title of the sequel. Thor: love and thunder it made more sense when we have come to the end because the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) has “adopted” the resurrected daughter of Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who calls herself Love. set more adventures with a possible new shoulder (who, on screen, is played by Hemsworth’s own daughter, India Rose, who is very sweet). But as we now learn, the actual steps they took to bring love to the screen changed during the writing, before getting what ended up in the movie.

Thor: love and thunder Co-writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson did an autopsy on the film THR and when they got to the events of the finale, he talked about some of their conversations and said:

Gorr would always bring his daughter back to life. There were many different versions of this final scene. There were many different versions of “Does Gorr always make the decision?” Does his heart betray him? Go to the last minute: “No, I want the gods to die,” but since eternity fulfills your deepest desire, is it his daughter who is brought back? ‘ There have been many different versions of how he was born, but his birth of him and this being from eternity has always been the ultimate goal.

It’s fun learning how Marvel can decode their way to the end, knowing where they want their main characters to be awaiting their next appearance, not being 100% sure how to get them there. And speaking of “not being sure”, Jennifer Kaitlyn Robinson also confirmed that she doesn’t know. Zeus was about to recruit Hercules in the sequence of the credits, or that the god would be interpreted ted lasso With Brett Goldstein!

No, it was a top secret situation that I was not aware of and I was surprised to see at the premiere. It’s fun to come see this movie where you knew all the twists, but you could always walk away saying “Shit!”

But what will happen to the revelation of Hercules? There was a number of Marvel characters featured in the credits scenes. Phase 4 films including Eros (Harry Styles), Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt), Clea (Charlize Theron) and Blade (Mahershala Ali). They will have to appear in future MCU movies and some of them, like Clea and Hercules, look set to appear in Doctor Strange and Thor movies … but how long will it be before those sequels arrive? One could speak of years.

Marvel recently introduced its Phase 5 roster and I started teasing Phase 6. Keep checking ours Upcoming Marvel Movies whiteboard to see when changes are made.
