The season premiered on Hulu on June 28, 2022, and ran fun episodes every week. The trio couldn’t have more fun working together and, even better, it looks like they won’t be stopping anytime soon.
In a recent interview with Variety, The actors were asked how long they would like to work on the Hulu crime comedy. Martin Short and Selena Gomez remained shy about staying on the show, with Martin Short replying:
I do [seasons] one by one. [It depends on] How are you.
The good news? Steve Martin, however, enthusiastically expressed interest in staying for several more seasons. The actor / producer hilariously responded:
As long as I’m not in a walker. This is the moment I would like to do [the show].
Spoiler alert! For anyone who has seen this season of Only murders in the building, this could be a reference to an episode in which Steve Martin’s character, actor Charles Savage, is invited to reprise his starring role in a television revival of his show, “Brazzos”. He is awkwardly asked to play the character in a wheelchair.
While Steve Martin is definitely joking, and perhaps about the details of the new season, the comments for the second season are already showing that audiences are eager to see more, and OMIT It has already been renewed for season 3. So this trio will go one step closer to the rollator!
Like the first season, this season features a gripping new mystery to solve for our favorite trio and new guest stars including Cara Delevingne and Amy Schumer. This season also welcomes the return of season one guest stars Amy Ryan and Nathan Lane.
the new season of Only murders in the building had been highly anticipated, especially as the show garnered 17 Emmy nominations for its first season, including nominations for Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy for Steve Martin and Martin Short. The show also set a Hulu record for the most viewed comedy on the streaming platform. I subtly suspect these viewer numbers could be attributed to me, because I can’t stop watching this show.
