Bolsonarists promise to boycott the initial capital after show at The Town

Dinho Ouro Preto’s critical speech to the “PEC of impunity” seemed to have bothered a portion of the online audience; so far, there are no signs of effect of the supposed boycott

The Show of Initial capital During the Paulistano Festival The Town 2025Last Sunday, 7, was broadcast live on TV and online. Both fans on the site and the home audience could accompany not only the group’s musical performance, but also some demonstrations of political content by Dinho Ouro Preto.

Initially, briefly, the singer preceded the song “Independence” – timely played on September 7 – with speech: “Save the independence of Brazil, live Brazilian democracy”. Then, when performing a version of “What country is this” (Urban Legion), said:

“This song here is about violence, poverty, inequality. About the PEC of impunity they are wanting to approve in Congress. The noble deputies is a song about Brazilian dystopia and is called ‘What country is this?’

The mentioned “PEC of impunity” is, in fact, the so -called PEC of prerogatives (amendment to Constitution 3/21), which alters parliamentary immunity issues by limiting possibilities of arrest in the act of deputies and senators. The initiative also received the nickname “PEC of Armagem” and came into the agenda at the end of last August, but should not be voted at this time.

Faced with the singer’s demonstrations, a portion of the public on social networks demonstrated not only disagreement, but also a desire to boycott the initial capital. In an Instagram post with the group’s concert schedule, netizens left comments such as:

“I really liked the band, but I don’t even go for it anymore.”

“Let’s see if you will take it without the right box office.”

“Velo Ouro Preto. Hopefully your shows are boycotted.”

“About the INSS theft nobody says anything, amazing. I was at The Town and not support bands that manifest themselves like this.”

“I came here just to check the cancellation, cancellation conferred.”

“In a few weeks you are apologizing. [Risos]”
