Mark Ronson recalls party in Michael Jackson’s fourth at 13

Success producer for stars such as Amy Winehouse and Bruno Mars recalls “Memorial” day when he was at the King of Pop Hotel still in teenage years

Mark Ronson It is one of the most renowned music producers worldwide. Collaborated in hits of stars like Amy Winehouse and Bruno Marsbesides producing the movie’s soundtrack Barbie (2023).

His contact with the world of pop and the great stars, however, came well before, still in youth. More specifically, at 13, when he attended a party in the hotel room Michael Jackson.

The Oscar and Seven Grammys winner tells of his book Night People: How to Be a DJ In ’90s New York City (via Lad bible) who has always been “obsessed” in walking a successful career in the music industry. In childhood, he had contact with Michael Jackson from a common friend, Sean Lennonson of John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

Faced with the various accusations of child abuse made against Michael Jackson over the years, Mark Ronson says he has mentally re -examined this episode of the party at the King of Pop hotel several times. However, he never found something that could testify against the artist, who died in 2009.

“Obviously, with the allegations that came up later, of course, it made me reexamine that event many times. I thought, for some reason, that there was nothing strange or unpleasant that night.

According to the Oscar winner with “Shallow”from the movie A star is born (2018), Michael Jackson was fun and a big “clown” in the sense of playing all the time. It gives more details of the party, held during the album tour Bad (1987).

“I think Michael stayed at Sean’s house and the next night we went to see the show. Michael gave a big party after the show in his hotel room. Michael was simply obsessed with throwing these soaked things out of the window, as if it took great mounds of toilet paper, moistened and then playing in parked cars.”

“I wouldn’t say it’s a highlight of my childhood, but it was certainly one of the most memorable experiences.”
